Sadness has filled my heart since learning of my old friend’s passing. Long ago in the 60’s Jack gave me the nickname “pumpkin”; my Father picked up on it and called me pumpkin too. The years following his return from Vietnam Jack would call to check up on his pumpkin to make sure I was “gettin’ by” and being good. I treasured those phone calls; sadly I lost contact with him during the 90’s. Jack had a good soul and a kind heart, I will never forget the memories we made together as friends. Farewell Jack!
