Jan Starks

Jan "Chicken" Starks was born to the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Murphy on October 14, 1956 in San Antonio, Texas. Jan accepted Christ at an early age, and was baptized in 1968 at the St. Luke Baptist Church. She received her education in San Antonio, Texas. Jan met and married Homer S. Starks, Sr. in 1976, in San Antonio, Texas and to this union four children were born. Jan was a very phenomenal woman who gave of herself sincerely without any hesitaton. Jan was a loving, cheerful soul, she was the life of the party. Her presence would lighten the room and put a smile on the face of anyone who crossed her path. Jan will be truly missed by all. She leaves to cherish her precious memory three daughters, Iris Starks (Elroy), Stephane Mesina, Bessie Tucker (Donte, Sr.); one son, Homer S. Starks, Jr. (Isabel); three brothers, Rex Murphy, Dennis Murphy, and Jermaine Murphy; four sisters, Eunice Wood, Anita Williams, Alberta Taylor and Tina Murphy; grandchildren, Drevonte (Brittany), Kiara, Tierra, Shante, Elizabeth, Donte Jr., Leah, Rhiauna, Alyssa, Stephen Anthony, Nenah and Mateo; great grandchild, Sarai. There are a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who will miss her deeply.
