Janet Wilma Myart Prince was born to James W Myart Sr. and Inez E. Myart in San Antonio, Texas on October 4, 1954. She was blessed to have four siblings Brenda, Harold, Carol and James (twin) and a special cousin Otto.

Janet attended Tynan Elementary School, Emerson Middle School, and Fox Tech High School where she was the First Black Cheerleader Captain and graduated in 1972. While in high school she married her high school sweetheart Awbrey B Prince Sr., and they had three wonderful children (Awbrey, Chantel, and Sheree).

Janet spent her life in church and adored her family. On her free time, she loved to take her kids to the park while she played softball.
Janet then graduated from St. Philips College with her Associates Degree in Health Administrations in 1991. While working on her degree, she was employed through the San Antonio State School as a supervisor over Medical Records and retired after 35 years of employment. After retirement she found a hobby to knit, crochet and tell everyone how proud she was to be a grandmother and great-grandmother.

Janet attended Hope Cumberland Presbyterian Church in America and was a very active member under the Rev James Myart Sr and Harold Myart Sr. She was the Church Secretary/Treasurer for over 30 years.

Janet leaves to cherish her memories, her children Awbrey B. Prince Jr AJ (Gloria), Chantel L Prince ( Channy), and Sheree L Prince (Beeda). Her grandchildren Destiny Salinas, Awbrey Prince III, Chrystal Bee, James Prince, Desiree Ray, Brittany Prince, Keirra Nelson, Kevin Prince, Terrance Mackey Prince, Aaliyah Prince, Dymond Prince, Awbrenique Prince, Jayeshaun Hemphill, and Machaela Ward. Her siblings Harold Myart Sr (Emma), James Jr, Laverne Burdette, cousin Otto and a very special friend Evelyn Evans, and a host of great-grandchildren (21), great nieces and nephews.

Janet was preceded in death by her parents Rev. James W. Myart, Sr and Inez E. Myart, her sisters Brenda Thomas Robinson, Carol F Chambers, and Curly Daniel.

  5. Such a Beautiful picture of our Elder Janet Prince-Page of the Brazos River Presbytery. Elder Janet was a devoted Elder of the Hope CPCA church. The distance was great from Dallas to San Antonio, but we did gather for July Presbytery, even by way of Telephone. She always had a warm, kind Spirit and a beautiful smile. Rest in Peace, dear sister of God; a job Well Done!
