Jarvis Edward Henson Sr., 67, of San Antonio, TX, passed away, Thursday, March 12, 2015 at his home. A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, March 18 at Mayfield Park Baptist Church, 700 W Hutchins Pl, San Antonio, TX 78221. Jarvis was born October 15, 1947 in San Antonio, TX to Jarvis and Vera (Powers) Henson. He graduated from South San High School. On September 15, 1969 he married Rosie Carol Holland. Jarvis spent four years serving his country in the US Navy and another 15 years in the Army Reserves. Jarvis spent 30 years employed as a bus operator for VIA. He loved to hunt and spend time with his family. Jarvis was a devoted father and loving husband. He will be greatly missed. Jarvis is survived by wife Rosie and his three children, Cathy Anderson and her husband Mike of San Antonio, TX, Mary Williams and her husband Patrick of Seymour, TN., and Jarvis Henson Jr. and his wife Rosita of San Antonio, TX, grandchildren, Kortney Black and her husband Cory, Tiffany Anderson, Michael Anderson, Garrett Williams, Faith Williams, Rylyn Henson and Kymberly Henson, his sisters Mary Hale and her husband Wayne of San Antonio, TX and Jamie Kopplinger and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jarvis and Vera, and his sister Maudie Henson.
