Jason Gonzales Sr.

jason gonzales

June 14, 1981 ~ December 7, 2025

Born in: San Antonio, Texas
Resided in: San Antonio, Texas

Jason Gonzales, a loving brother, devoted father of three, and proud grandfather, passed from this life leaving behind a legacy of laughter, generosity, and unwavering love. Known for his big heart, easygoing spirit, and irresistible playfulness, Jason brought light wherever he went—and usually a joke or prank, too.

Born with a natural enthusiasm for life, Jason found joy in the simple things: casting a line on the water, blasting music, dancing without hesitation, and admiring the roar of fast cars. He loved fireworks, good food, and cheering loudly for his favorite teams, the San Antonio Spurs and the Dallas Cowboys. His smile was quick, his humor unforgettable, and his presence comforting to all who knew him.

Jason had a special kind of luck, especially when it came to lottery scratch-offs. But what made that luck meaningful was the way he shared it—always willing to give, always eager to help, always generous with whatever he had. His kindness was sincere and reflected the depth of his character.

Above all, Jason’s greatest pride and joy were his children: Jason Gonzales Jr., Julian Gonzales, and Jalissa Gonzales. He adored his grandchildren Jayden, Jasiah, and Madelynn, and treasured every moment spent with them. Jason also shared an unbreakable bond with his beloved sisters, Yvonne Hasty and Christine G. Stoutamire, who will forever hold his memory close.

Jason leaves behind a family who will miss his humor, his warmth, and his presence every day. Though his time here feels far too short, the love he gave and the joy he spread will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew him.

  1. CandleImageMy heart is broken as another piece of it is missing. You are going to be missed tremendously. But, I know God had other plans for you. As you join your loving parents and grandparents and other family members. Rest in peace my loving nephew. Amen

  2. CandleImageI’ll never forget when you used to throw your farts, take us to the flea markets, splurge on fireworks for new years and you’d sell candy bars out of your apartment window. I love you always! <33

  3. CandleImageI will always remember Jason for his energy, his laughter, and his willingness to do just about anything. He loved his kids very much and was always looking for ways to spend time with them and have a good time. I remember him playing Guitar Hero / Rock Band in their living room late into the night, with all of us watching and laughing together.

Jason loved to fish. He and I would take late-night (early morning) trips to Walmart to buy fishing gear on sale, back when it was open 24 hours. We’d sometimes drive around town looking for rivers and creeks to fish; sometimes deep in the brush, sometimes pulled off along the side of the highway — wherever we thought we might find the next big bass.

One of my favorite memories is when he came by my parent’s house to get me because we had both just bought new yo-yos. We stood in the driveway trying new tricks, and one of his favorites was “walking the dog.” 😂🪀

Prayers and condolences to the family during this difficult time. Jason was taken from us far too soon, but his memory will always live on!

  4. CandleImageCuz, run free up in heaven and say hello to all those waiting for you. I’m sorry I missed your viewing due to poor planning on my side. Rest in peace Jason.
