December 18, 1952 ~ July 26, 2025

Born in: Marlin, Texas
Resided in: San Antonio, Texas

On July 26, 2025, God called home one of His beloved sons. Jasper Scott, Jr. passed away peacefully at the age of 72.

Jasper was born on December 18, 1952 in Marlin, Texas to Jasper Scott, Sr. and Gloria Jean Washington Scott.  He was raised in a large and loving family with five sisters and four brothers.

He lived most of his life in San Antonio, Texas.  Jasper decided to leave school early and began working at Clampitt Paper Company, where he became a skilled machinist. After many dedicated years with the company he went on to start his own landscaping business, which he ran proudly until his retirement in 2012.

Even after retiring, Jasper never stopped being the dependable, hands on man his family knew him to be.  He continued to help with yard work, junk removal and odd jobs whenever a loved one needed a hand-well into his later years.  Whether you needed muscle, tools or help moving, Jasper showed up without hesitation.

Jasper was a man of quiet faith and unmistakable style.  He was always sharply dressed and carried himself with confidence.  Though he was far from perfect, he had a good heart and a steady love for God that showed in how he lived and how he showed up for others.

From a young age Jasper had a deep love for basketball.  He was known for his natural talent on the courts, so much so that his middle school coaches often praised his skill and determination.  That passion took him far, including the experience of briefly traveling with the world-famous Harlem Globetrotters.  Whether on the court or in the stands, Jasper brought joy and excitement to the game.  He also enjoyed watching football and basketball in his spare time and never turned down a friendly little side bet with family and friends.

Jasper met and married the love of his live, Willie Mae Green-Scott.  Their union was filled with laughter, loyalty and love.

He now rests in eternal peace reunited with his parents, Jasper Scott, Sr. and Gloria J. Scott; big sister, Catherine Scott; younger brother, Eddie J. Scott and beloved niece, Roshawnda R. Little.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife, Willie M. Scott; sisters, Avaleen Scott-Little, Debra Cline (Herbert), Theresa Butler and Maudesta Caleb (Harry); brothers, Ronnie Scott and Michael Scott; one aunt and one uncle, seven nieces, eight nephews and a host of cousins and relatives.
