Jeane Mulholland Funkhouser, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away on December 23, 2010 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Dansville, VA on November 25, 1928 to Ernest and Beulah Milhollen. Jeane worked as a reporter for the San Francisco newspaper, modeled, and wrote a regular column. She had many talents including being a master floral designer, co-owned a radio station, KWMC, and floral shop, Eden Etc., and worked in sales and advertising. Her artistic talents reached notoriety in the 1960's & 1970's. She was a phenomenal self-taught, mosaic artist completing amazing pieces of mosaic artwork on a number of different venues including, St David's Episcopal Church in San Antonio, which was displayed in the Witte Museum. She collaborated with Lincoln Borglum on another of her mosaics in Topeka, Kansas in the National Reserve Life Insurance Company. She married Charles Hunt Sr. in 1953 and had two children, Charlene and Charles. She was married again in 1973 to Donald Funkhouser who is survived by her. She enjoyed her faith, her precious family, her many wonderful friends, and life in general. To say that Jeane will be missed by all who knew her does not say enough the impact she had on us all. She was a beautiful person in every way.
