  1. Dear grieving family,

My wife and I are truly sorry for your tremendous loss and would like to express our condolences to the entire family. We cannot imagine the great pain and sorrow you have been experiencing during this time of loss. It is our sincere hope you find comfort in knowing that God has promised to “swallow up death forever” (Isaiah 25:8), and that he will resurrect our dear loved ones who have passed away. John 5:28. http://www.jw.org

  2. Jeff and I met in elementary school and became best friends for many years. I can’t say how many hours we spent playing baseball in the yard between his house and his grandmother’s, just the two of us. We’d play catch and then he’d pitch to me and then I’d pitch to him, each of us running down the other’s hits. When we were done, Mrs. Boeer would always have something cold for us to drink. Those were some of my most cherished childhood memories. Later, Jeff became our baseball team’s catcher and always insisted on getting Mickey Mantle’s number for his uniform. When I pitched, we’d use the signals we’d worked out together during those earlier play sessions to call pitches and pick off plays.

Jeff was always an adventurer, even back then. He was blessed to have open areas surrounding his home and would often tell me of his exploration of the nearby river. I envied him for his adventures, so it came as no surprise when I heard that he’d joined the Navy, it just broadened the world that he could explore. His inner spirit lead him there.

To his family, especially Mrs. Boeer and Donna Jo, I feel your loss and offer my sincere condolences. May your memories of Jeff remind you always of the good times you shared.
