Jesus (Jesse) P. Martinez, age 73, of San Antonio, went home to be with the Lord on January 14, 2022. Jesus was born and raised in San Antonio. He married his loving wife, Sylvia, and raised his family in the very same city where he grew up. Jesse was also known as “Chuy” by his family and friends. He was a true family man. He loved his wife, three daughters, grandchildren, and great grandchildren with all of his heart. He was a man who had a strong Faith and devotion to God and his church and he was a fierce protector of everyone in his family. Jesus worked very hard his whole life. He was a “jack of all trades.” Jesus worked in construction, he was a carpenter, a master craftsman, and entrepreneur. If anything was broken, he could fix it. He provided and cared greatly for everyone in his family. He gave of himself without a thought and made sure everyone always had what they needed.
Jesus always had a joke to tell and he had a contagious laugh that lit up a room!
He will be greatly missed by his mother Guadalupe, His wife of 55 years Sylvia, daughters Sandra Martinez Wahl, Melissa Martinez Villarreal, and Jessica Martinez and her spouse Adrienne. He is the loving grandfather of Michael Wahl Jr., Stephanie Wahl, Jesse Wahl, Joshua Wahl, Jonathan Wahl, Nick Wahl, Felicity Wahl, Chloe Villarreal, Naomi Villarreal, Christopher Villarreal.
Great Grandchildren Michaela Benavides, Mikey Benavides, Joel Wahl, Joshua Wahl Jr., Julian Wahl, Benjamin Parga, Christian Wahl, Forrest Mora. He is also survived by his brother Joe Martinez Jr., numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Jesus was preceded in death by his father Joe Martinez Sr., sister Irene Martinez, and brother Raul Martinez.

Services will be held at St. Gerard Church, 1524 Iowa St. Rosary will be recited on Thursday, January 27 at 6:30 pm. A Funeral mass will be offered on Friday, January 28 at 1:00 pm.
