Joe Angel Aguero, age 58, of Pearsall, Texas, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 1, 2025 after a six-year battle with cancer. He was born on May 29, 1967, in Pearsall, Texas, to the late Francisco Aguero Jr. and Mary Lou Aguero.
Joe was a proud graduate of Pearsall High School, Class of 1986. Growing up, he spent countless hours working alongside his father on the farms he managed, helping to maintain the crops and equipment. Those early years fostered in him a deep appreciation for hard work. Once graduating from high school he earned certifications in air condition repair, auto mechanics and his Commercial Driver’s License.
He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and finding joy and peace in nature. Joe also had a lifelong passion for music—he played bass guitar in a band during his younger years and enjoyed all genres, with George Strait and Keith Whitley among his favorites. Joe was a die-hard Dallas Cowboys fan and loved sitting outside in front of the BBQ pit, grilling and chilling.
Adventurous and full of life, Joe never met a stranger. He had a free spirit that led him from riding his first moped to cruising the open roads on his treasured motorcycle. His warm smile, infectious laughter, and great sense of humor touched everyone who knew him as he collected and maintained friends throughout his life. Through his life’s journey, he maintained a strong Catholic faith fostered by his early days serving as an altar boy at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish in Pearsall, TX.
Joe will be deeply missed by his family and friends, but the memories of life, love and laughter will stay with all who knew him.
He is survived by his fiancé Alex Robledo Dominguez; mother Mary Lou Aguero (Mark), son Joe Angel Aguero Jr; daughter Ashley Bowen (Joey); son Jacob Aguero; stepchildren Jessica, Michael, Oscar Rodriguez; grandchildren Mateo and Alaina; nephews Francisco Aguero IV and Francisco Aguero V; numerous loving aunts, uncles and cousins. He is preceded in death by son Joe Anthony Aguero; brother Francisco Aguero III (Julia); maternal grandparents Sila and Ruben Aguirre; paternal grandparents Nestora and Francisco Aguero.
