John R. Galarza

John Raymond Galarza was born August 31, 1954 in Los Angeles CA. He is the 2nd eldest and only son of Marian (Tarin) Galarza. In his usual unpredictable way, he left us unexpectedly at the age of 63. A native Southern Californian, he was always fearlessly independent and adventurous and loved leading the way to new explorations of nature and the cosmos, selflessly sharing his knowledge and experience with others. A short stint in the U.S. Army helped fine tune his already well-disciplined nature. He had impeccable taste and kept an immaculate home that he shared with his wife Laura whom he knew for nearly 40 years. He loved classic cars, which over the years consisted of vintage Land Cruisers, VWs and his beloved Porsche. Taking things apart and putting back together again was his passion. His belief was that he was born in a different era and always belonged to the past. He had a booming voice that kept everyone in their place but also had a huge and caring heart that he shared privately. John is survived by his wife Laura, his mother Marian Galarza his four siblings and his extended family through marriage. He was loved and will be missed by everyone who knew him.
