John Tobias Gallegos was called home on God’s time on May 11, 2025. He was born in San Antonio, Texas to Theodore & Tranquilina Gallegos where he graduated from John F. Kennedy High School in 1983. He met the love of his life, his wife Rose Mary, in 1986 and they subsequently had their only daughter, Krystle Rose the following year. He was a jack of all trades having worked as a security guard, at VIA Transit, The Dallas Cowboys Pro Shop, The Hard Rock Café and The South Texas Blood Bank before finally retiring from the workforce working lastly with GEO Group. To those who knew him at all stages of his life, he was the #1 Dallas Cowboys fan, the best at throwing BBQs for New Years Eve and the Super Bowl where family and friends always raved about his Mexican rice and pigs in a blanket appetizers. His life revolved around his faith, family and being the funniest person in the room. The light he shone into the world will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate enough to have met him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Theodore & Tranquilina Gallegos, a baby sister Concepcion Gallegos and his in-laws Bernabé & Magdalena Celestino.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 38 years, Rose Mary Gallegos; his daughter, Krystle Rose; grandson, Noah Lincoln; siblings Patricia Menchaca (Eddie); Ted Gallegos, Jr; Jeannie Gallegos (Gloria) and Carmen Benavides; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a multitude of friends and extended family who will miss his corny jokes and life advice.

I met Krystle’s father a few times in the past and he was always so jovial! Making jokes and he had a warm smile. Was extremely kind to my sons and a great person all around. He will be missed. God has him in Heaven now.
