September 5, 1957 ~ August 4, 2025

Born in: Taylor, Texas
Resided in: San Antonio, Texas

With profound sadness and profound gratitude, we announce the passing of Jose P. Rodriguez, a remarkable husband, father, grandfather, and brother, who peacefully departed on August 4, 2025, at the age of 67, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and devotion. Born on September 5, 1957, in Taylor, TX, Jose was preceded in death by his parents, Andres and Angelita Rodriguez; brothers Andrew and Alfred; and sister Beatrice Rodriguez. Jose lived a life rich in purpose, filled with love, laughter, and an unwavering commitment to his family. For 47 years, he was the rock and soulmate to his wife, Magdalena, the love of his life, who stood by his side through every triumph and challenge. Jose was a proud and loving father to his three daughters – Roxanne Ruiz (Adan), Samantha Rodriguez (Mark), and Amanda Rodriguez – who will forever cherish his guidance, warmth, and the strength of his quiet wisdom. His legacy continues through his grandchildren, Darien (Angelina), Addy, Mark, Faith, Emmie, Roman, and Jose, whom he adored beyond measure. To them, he was more than a grandfather – he was their hero, their storyteller, and their biggest fan.

He had a lighthearted spirit and a sense of humor that could brighten any room. Whether he was telling a joke, reminiscing over memories, or sharing stories from the past, Jose brought joy to all who knew him. He was kind and generous — always ready with a helping hand or a warm smile. He had a passion for life’s simple pleasures. He found peace by the water, fishing rod in hand. He was an avid collector of sports memorabilia, always with a story behind each item. He enjoyed the excitement of slot machines and the occasional thrill of horse racing — his way of adding a bit of adventure to everyday life. Jose is also survived by his loving sisters: Yolanda Delgado, Eva Rodriguez, Adela Lopez, and Elia Hernandez. Though he is no longer with us in body, Jose will forever remain in our hearts, inspiring us to live with purpose, love with abandon, and cherish every moment.

His memory will live on in every laugh shared, every family gathering, and in the quiet, comforting moments that remind us of the love he so freely gave.
