Kathy Hicks-Lawson

Kathy Hicks-Lawson was born in San Antonio, Texas on July 10, 1962 to Julius R. Hicks and Doris R. Green. She accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior at an early age. She attended St. Gerard Elementary School, San Antonio, Texas and graduated from Fox Tech High School. She Also attended St Phillips College, San Antonio, Texas.
She worked at Joske’s Department Store, and Dillard’s Department Store, both in San Antonio, Texas.
In 1987, Kathy took a transfer to Dillard’s in Houston, Texas. But because of the distance she had to drive to get to work, she quit and went to work at Target. After 7 month at Target, she transitioned to a position at the new Walmart Department Store in Cypress, Texas. She married her husband, James Lawson, on September 5, 2009 and continued her employment at Walmart for 18 years until her demise. She was affectionately known as there “Ms. Kathy.”
Kathy enjoyed horseback riding, trail riding and cowboy action shooting; where she was a member of S.A.S. (Single-action Shooting Society) She was affectionately known at S.A.S. as “Miss Kitty Hockley.”
Kathy was preceded in death by her mother, Doris R. Green-Hicks, her Palomino horse, Tequila, and family horse, Lightening.
Left to cherish her memories are her husband, James L. Lawson, her father, Julius Hicks, her best friend, Sandra Morgan, their horse children; Mystic and Pepsi, a plethora of loving cousins from the Green, Hicks, Crawford, and Lawson families, and a host of loving friends. May her memory live on in our hearts and minds.
