August 20, 1967 ~ January 5, 2018
Kenneth Lawrence Gould, age 50, passed in peace on January 5, 2018. He fought hard in his battle with esophageal cancer. From his birth in Garden Grove on August 20, 1967 to his passing he brought lots of laughter, love, and compassion to those around him. He was a jack of all trades; wanting to learn anything and everything he could throughout his life. His work ethic and determination could not go unnoticed. He was a proud U.S Army veteran who joined the military at the young age of 40. Ken truly lived life to the fullest. Some of his happiest days were spent enjoying the simplest pleasures of cooking, cracking jokes, enjoying nature, and eating candy. He was a devoted father, proud grandfather, cherished son, and a beloved friend. He is survived by his lifelong love Lisa Towne; his three children, Jennifer Hatch, Matthew Towne, and Taylor Gould; his four young grandchildren; his mother Elizabeth Baker; his brother Monte Gould; his sister Kim Simmons; his four nephews; and his four-legged best friend Sophie. A funeral service is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. on January 24 at Meadowlawn Funeral Home in San Antonio proceeded by a military burial at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m.
Kenneth previously expressed in lieu of flowers or funeral contributions, friends may donate to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital or the Wounded Warrior Project in his honor.

My condolences to the Family and close friends of Kenneth Gould. He was a great soldier, and I am honored to have served with him.
Dear Ken,
I laughed more with you than I ever have with anyone else! Somehow you always knew what kind of goofy to be to put a smile on my face, no matter what I had on my mind that day. You’re a true friend to me, Ken…going out of your way for me several times, yet not thinking twice to offer your help! The day you called me to give me the news that you were sick, when I started crying you told me not to cry for you, but to be happy with you in the time you had left. You were so strong to say that to me, just so I wouldn’t be sad. Well Ken, I’ve cried and laughed and been mad and then cried some more since January 5th, but tomorrow I hope to be as strong as you were a year ago when you told me not to cry, and smile for you always! Thank you for all you did for not only me, but how great you were to my lil monster Korbin too!
P.S. We still fly the kite you gave him a few months ago, and will do so with a little different meaning from now on! We love you, Ken!
Love,
Tristin & Korbin
