Leon Powell

Leon Powell passed away August 22, 2016 at St Luke's Hospital in San Antonio, TX. Leon was born September 23, 1937 in Victoria, TX, one of eight children to Lee and Victoria Elizabeth Powell. He was raised in the farm, cattle and ranching life. Leon was a competitor in many rodeos, as a calf roper. He competed in the 1983 National Finals Rodeo in Oklahoma City, OK. Leon was ranked #1 in South Texas. Leon was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Julia (Harper) and siblings. He is survived by son, Michael (wife Heather) of Newberg, OR; cousins, nieces and nephews primarily in the Victoria and Houston areas.

Leon will certainly be missed. He was a good man and friend. There will be one heck of a rodeo with calf roping going on in heaven!!! My condolences to all.
