Manuel Benavides III passed away on his 47th birthday, April 20, 2025, in San Antonio, Texas. Born in Baytown, Texas on April 20, 1978, Manuel was a man known for his hard work, dedication, and quiet strength who lived life with purpose and heart.

A proud graduate of East Central High School, Class of 1997, Manuel went on to serve his country in the U.S. military as a medical specialist in the tank division. He was stationed overseas in Giessen, Germany, where he served with honor until 2002.

After his military service, Manuel continued his career in healthcare as a dialysis medical technician and later brought his talents to the Caterpillar company. He was known for his strong work ethic, kind heart, and sense of duty both at work and at home.

He found joy in the simple things such as riding motorcycles, fishing and especially camping trips to Garner State Park, where he felt most connected to nature and to his family. His bond with his four brothers was unshakable, a source of deep love and loyalty that shaped who he was.

Manuel is survived by his sons: Marc, Manuel, and Alex; his mother, Rosemary Vasquez; his partner, Catherine Garcia; his brothers: Leif (Miranda), Eric (Michele), and Zech (Vanessa); stepdaughter, Maranda Schultz; grandson, Isaac Manuel Camacho. He also leaves behind his nieces and nephews: Colton, Alexis, Ericka, Marisa, Eric Jr., Jacob, Victoria, Jaxon, and Isabella as well as many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Manuel V. Benavides Jr., and his brother, Aaron Benavides.

Manuel’s presence was steady, dependable, and deeply felt. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and all who had the privilege to know him.
