Maria Del Pilar Ray

Maria Del Pilar Roberto Pardo was born March 23, 1943 in Madrid, Spain to Luis Reina and Regina Del Pilar Roberto Pardo .

Maria arrived in the United States in 1971and her name was changed to Maria Pilar Denman and lived in Waukegan, Illinois with her husband Gary and daughter Carmen.  She later made her home in Chicago, Illinois. She was remarried and was stationed with her second husband at San Diego, California,  Adak, Alaska,  Beaufort, South Carolina,  and Jacksonville, Florida.

She was married again to Vern Ray January 27, 1990 in Charleston, South Carolina, and continued her travels to Norfolk, Virginia,  Leavenworth, Kansas and in 1999 moved to Guam.  The family finally returned to the United States in 2003, taking up residence in Universal City, Texas and lived there until her passing.

Maria was a very kind and generous woman. She met many people during her travels and made friends that lasted for many years.  Even when she moved to other cities, those she met previously, stayed in touch. Her favorite times were with family and friends. She will be best remembered singing along with songs and dancing.

Maria is survived by her husband of thirty-five years, Vern Ray; children, Carmen and Daniel, eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
