It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Marilyn G. Garcia, who left us peacefully on April 23, 2025, at the age of 81.

Born on August 19, 1943, Marilyn lived a full and vibrant life marked by love, laughter, and echoes of joy. She was the heart and soul of our family—the glue that held us all together through every season of life. Her home was always filled with warmth, the sound of laughter, the kind of love that made everyone feel at home, and countless memories that brought people closer.

Marilyn had a love for life that was infectious. She was a fan of her game shows—none more beloved than The Price Is Right, which she rarely missed. Her sense of fun and adventure came alive at the slot machines, where she enjoyed gambling and traveling with her family to various destinations, always ready with a smile and a margarita or tequila sunrise in hand. These moments were not just hobbies, but cherished opportunities for connection and joy.

Known for her humor, grace, and generosity, Marilyn had a gift for making everyone feel seen, heard, and valued. She welcomed all with open arms and an open heart. Her kindness and acceptance left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

She was also a professional gift giver—especially during her favorite holiday, Christmas, when she delighted in showering her loved ones with what could only be described as a joyful mountain of presents. Her thoughtfulness and abundance during the holidays reflected her deep love for her family and her sheer joy in giving.

Marilyn is preceded in death by her parents Amada & Anselmo Gallegos and Ellen & Moses Cordova, as well as daughter Doris A. Stubbs, and son Richard A. Lucio. Left to cherish her memory are her children Lydia & Thomas Kriske, David & Eva Lucio, Trisha Lucio & Roger Faz, and Monica Holder, as well as her brother Richard Cordova.

To her grandchildren, she was more than a grandmother—she was a best friend, a confidante, and a source of unconditional love. She never missed a chance to cheer them on, to spoil them, and to show them how deeply they were loved. She is survived by her granddaughter Marilyn A. Faz, as well as 18 other cherished grandchildren and a growing number of great grandchildren. Having grown up as an only child, she created a large, loving family of her own—one built on comfort, care, and an abundance of affection.

Though our hearts ache in her absence, we take comfort in the countless beautiful memories she leaves behind and in the legacy of love she instilled in our lives. She was truly one of a kind, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
