Marjorie Edith Taylor died peacefully on Thursday, July 31, 2025 at Eden Hill Memory Unit in New Braunfels, Texas following a fall.
Marjorie was 95 years young, born November 07, 1929 in Runge, Texas. Her parents were Mr. and Mrs. Hugh E. Atkison. On May 06, 1950, she married W.D. (Ted) Berry of Alice, Texas, and had two children, Richard Ted Berry and Treva Marie Blackman. On June 26, 1997, she married Harold H. Taylor of New Braunfels, Texas.
Marjorie worked for William Adams Junior High as secretary to the principal in Alice, Texas and in banking. She enjoyed people. She loved being a mother, a homemaker, and Bible student. She was a talented seamstress and enjoyed gardening. She was an active member of the New Braunfels Church of Christ and was tireless in her work with the Grief Ministry.
She was preceded in death by husbands Ted Berry who died August 06, 1980 and Harold Taylor who died February 09, 2001. Also preceding her in death were her parents, Hugh and Edith Atkison, her sister, Lilian Kathryn and brother Cecil Hugh.
She is survived by her son, Richard Berry and wife Renee, of Sandia, daughter, Treva Blackman and husband Chris, of Irving, step-daughter Judi Proctor and husband Dave of Dallas, step-daughter Pat Caldwell and husband Royce of San Antonio, two granddaughters, Holley Garcia and husband Felipe, of Corpus Christi, Amber Williams and husband Alan of Houston and grandson, Douglas Stevens and partner Michael Fuerst of Miami, niece, Hughetta Hand of Lindale and nephew, Jim Hodges and wife Lynda of La Rue plus three great-grandchildren of Corpus Christi.
The family wishes to extend thanks to the following people: All of the loving staff at Eden Hill Communities who provided care and comfort for the past 6 years and in her final weeks and the members of the New Braunfels Church of Christ, who offered comfort and prayers for Marjorie and her family.
Celebration of Life service will be Saturday, August 30, 2025 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the New Braunfels Church of Christ, 1665 South Business IH 35, New Braunfels, Texas 78130.
The family requests memorials be given to the charities of one’s choice or the Medina Children’s Home.
