Murrell A. Washington

murrell washington
Murrell Anthony Washington was born on November 13, 1942 in San Antonio, TX to Mary Etta Haywood and John Washington, Sr. both of whom preceded him in death. He was the eldest of four children and was baptized at an early age. Murrell began his education at Booker T. Washington Elementary School, Douglas Middle School and later attended St. Peter Claver in San Antonio where he graduated. He attended St. Phillips College after graduation and was the first in his family to attend college. He subsequently went to trade school and became a draftsman and moved to Austin, TX working as a draftsman. After suffering a life- threatening injury, rendering him disabled, Murrell returned to San Antonio to live. Murrell was an avid Spurs fan and attended his first ever Spurs game in December 2017. His second love was watching the Dallas Cowboys. On Sunday, September 17, God delivered Murrell from his failing health, pain, and suffering. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends who will miss his faithful calls to wish them a Happy Birthday. Murrell is survived by two brothers; John Walter Washington, Jr. & Charles Elijah Barnes (Sister-in Law, Susan Barnes). Murrells life-partner, Charlotte Rodriguez and his sister, Alyce Rose Barnes both preceded him in death. He leaves to mourn, the children of his life partner, Jamie Coleman & Rosa Munoz, his six nieces and nephews, a host of grandnieces and nephews, and many dear cousins of California.

  2. To the best Uncle in the world!:..U always excepted me as I was, NEVER 4got a birthday, and loved me unconditionally. Thank you. You will always be missed and remembered!!

  3. My dearest Uncle I will greatly miss you. Always concerned about how I was doing, even when you weren’t doing your best. I will never forget enjoying both your and my first Spurs game; you will forever be in my heart.

  4. To the family of Murrell Washington…

May we express our condolences to all of you. Along with that, I’d like to add what the Bible says about the resurrection of the dead at Acts 24:15. The resurrection it speaks of means a coming back to life. This gives us hope! Of interest too are the words founds at 2 Corinthians 1:3,4 and John 5:28,29, where we are given hope of reuniting with our loved ones again.
