It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, and sister, Myra Garcia, who left us on May 6, 2025, at the age of 56.
Born on January 8, 1969, Myra brought joy and laughter to all who knew her. She was a woman of warmth, compassion, and spirit — always quick with a joke and a smile that could light up any room. Her sense of humor was a gift she shared freely, making every family gathering feel like a celebration.
A devoted mother and grandmother, Myra found her greatest happiness in the company of her family. She cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren, who were the light of her life. Whether she was teaching them something new, laughing at their stories, or simply holding them close, her love was always felt and never questioned.
Myra was also a talented and passionate craftswoman. Her hands were rarely still — always busy with knitting needles or crochet hooks, creating blankets, hats, and gifts that will be treasured for generations. Her handiwork was not just beautiful, but full of love.
She also had a deep love for Tejano music, which she often played while working on her crafts or dancing around the house. It brought her joy and kept her connected to her roots.
Myra leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and strength. She is preceded in death by her Father Cruz Garcia Sr. and son Jesse Garza. Left to cherish her memory are her children Catherine Garcia, Desiree Garza, Alexander Garza parents Robert and Isabel Alderete, as well as siblings Cruz Garcia Jr. and Lisa Garcia. She will be missed beyond words by her children, grandchildren, siblings, extended family, and countless friends.
We take comfort in knowing that her memory will live on in the hearts of those she touched. Her presence was a blessing, and her absence is deeply felt.

Condolences to the family, I am very sorry for your loss. I knew Myra growing up on Waverly street when we were teens. Even though we didn’t keep in touch, the memories we made will forever stay in my heart. On behalf of the Tovar family, may she rest in peace and all the angels surround her.
