Owen Gardner

Owen Anderson Gardner,"JD", was born September 14, 1954 in San Antonio, Texas. He was one of five children born to the union of Theodore Gardner and Pauline Jones Gardner of San Antonio. He was raised in San Antonio but moved to Houston, Texas where he graduated from Jack Gates High School in 1972 and joined the US Air force shortly after. J.D. loved basketball, and baseball. He also enjoyed singing, and attending public events. He was warm, generous and left a stamp everywhere he visited. He maintained an active social life to include bingo night, cards, dominoes, and family gatherings. J.D. was a faithful Christian and a regular worshiper at a number of San Antonio churches. He was preceded in death by his parents Theodore and Pauline; and brother Herbert Nash. He leaves to cherish his memory; His daughter Franchelle Gardner; brothers Theodore Gardner Jr. of LaVergre, Tn. and Cedric Nash of San Antonio; his sister Dorothy Paulette Gardner of San Antonio and his nieces and nephews, Damion, Cedric, LaTasha, Charlene, Randell and Jerrime along with a host of other relatives and friends.

I can’t remember just how or where I met “J.D”. But, we became friends, and remained so until the end. I am one of his senior friends, and I “Loved” him like a son. Pauline and I were schoolmates. I will truly miss him. Rest in peace, my love. Ms. Tina
