Patricia Jo Smith

patricia smith
Patricia Jo Osbolt Smith went to be with the Lord August 9, 2010 while in the care of Vitas Hospice in San Antonio. Born in 1944 in Midland, TX, she was the first of four children born to Joseph and Frances Osbolt. Patricia graduated from Barbers Hill High School in 1963 and attended Lee College afterward. She resided in and near the Houston area for most of her life (Liberty, Baytown, Magnolia), but spent her last 3 years in San Antonio. Patricia was married to Forrest Dion Smith of Woodville, TX who preceded her in death. They were blessed with four children: Forrest Dion Smith, Jr. (Pete), David W. Guthrie, Joseph W. Smith, and Shawn Michelle Smith Coryell. Patricia worked as a Food Service Supervisor for around 20 years, but left that industry when she and her husband Forrest opened Smith Surveying in Houston. Patricia loved good food and good gossip, along with sewing, gardening, painting and most of all, her grandchildren. Socializing came very easily to her as she made friends wherever she went and had a wonderful smile that could light up a room. She played basketball and tennis for Barber's Hill High School as well as Lee College. She played the accordion for her high school band also. She is survived by her daughter, Shawn Michelle Coryell, and son in law Derek, sons Joseph W. Smith, Forrest D. Smith Jr., (Pete) and David Guthrie. Grandchildren: Katie Smith-Schwarz, Vincent Smith, Presley, Lyndon and AnnaLee Coryell, Rachelle, Ryan, Zachary and Erika Guthrie. Great Grandchildren: Dwayne (D.J), Page F., Xander C. Sisters: Robin R. Osbolt Cain, Linda Osbolt Morgan, brother Joseph Osbolt, nieces and nephews, Mary and Mabry Lee Cain, Kathy, Claude, & Wade Morgan, Aunt Margrette Pugh, many other loved ones and family members. Memorial gifts may be made to the www.kidneyfund.org, or Forest Hills Presbyterian Church Youth Group.
