March 12, 1938 ~ March 19, 2015
On March 19, 2015, Philip D. Miller Sr., born March 12, 1938 in Muskogee, Oklahoma passed away in his home surrounded by loving family. Phil came to San Antonio during his junior year in high school and played French horn in the Jefferson H.S. band. He began his career in music with the San Antonio Symphony and selling pianos at downtown Joske's; later with Sims Baldwin Piano Company. For 60 years his love was making people happy and seeing the joy that music brought to others. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Carol Speer Miller, his children Philip Miller, Jr. and wife Holly, Laurie Pisano and husband, Louis; grandchildren Andrew, Mason & Maggie Miller, Linley & Landon Pisano. Phil was an active member of Christ Episcopal Church for 60 years. A memorial service and reception will be held on Friday, March 27th, at 10:00 a.m. at Christ Episcopal Church, 510 Belknap, San Antonio, TX 78212. Memorials may be made in his memory to Christ Episcopal Church or the charity of your choice.
