January 10, 1963 ~ May 3, 2015
On Sunday, May 3rd, 2015, Kenneth Leon Simpson heard the Master say, "servant, thou has been faithful, come to take your rest."
A faithful servant, Kenneth was born on January 10, 1963 to the parentage of the late Thelma and Johnny Simpson, in San Antonio, TX. He was educated in the Edgewood Independent School District within San Antonio, TX and was a member of the Edgewood High School graduating class of 1981. He continued his studies at Tarkio College in Tarkio, Missouri. After returning to San Antonio, Kenneth completed his Associates studies in the Electrical Trade at St. Philips College.
At an early age, Kenneth accepted Christ as his personal Savior and was baptized at St. Paul Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. S. H. Bedford. Kenneth received the calling as a minister of the Gospel of Jesus Christ in 1999 and was ordained in 2000.
Kenneth was an outstanding basketball player who pursued his dreams of playing professional basketball until injuries sidelined him. He later pursued a career as an electrician. Kenneth worked hard and effortlessly in the field of electricity with several companies until he received the designation of Master Electrician and started his own business, Simpson Electric. During this time he also was an instructor at St. Philips College and an Electrical Planner with the City of San Antonio.
He was united in marriage to Michele Green Simpson. Precious and loving memories are left with his sisters: Leticia Jerkins, San Antonio, TX, Darlene Coleman (Floyd), Missouri City, TX, Beverly Thorns, San Antonio, TX; aunt: Adell Ball; uncles: Jessie Ball, Sr. and Harold Madison; nephews: Brandon McKinley (Maria), Braylin Thorns-Evans; nieces: Joy Spencer, Kimberly McKinley, and Tayari Lee; a host of other family members and friends.
