robert hogan
Robert J. Hogan was born on September 16th 1933 in Oswego, New York to John C. and Evelyn Hogan. Growing up in a small town in upstate New York, Robert quickly learned the value of hard work, dedication, and perseverance. Enlisting in the Air Force in 1955, Robert proudly served his country for 28 years, including time spent in deployment in the Vietnam War. During his time in the Air Force, Robert J. Hogan diligently worked his way through the ranks to become appointed Chief Master Sergeant, and received numerous awards and metals. He also met his late wife, Mary Patricia Hogan, who during this time, also served as First Lieutenant in the Air Force. Following his retirement from the Air Force, Robert began his civilian career as a restaurant manager working at several well-known establishments such as Denny's, Chuck-E-Cheese, and Fuddruckers's. Robert was a well-respected and admired boss among his employees, as he always went out of his way to make sure their needs were met and they were happy. He led by example and always worked just as hard, or harder, than he expected of his employees. He also shared his store bonuses with his entire team to show his gratitude and appreciation. After retiring from full-time employment, Robert worked as a security guard at Los Patios senior living home, making many more life-long friends. Robert was a loving and proud father of two children, Marjorie Ann and Robert Todd Hogan, and was loved and admired by his two grandchildren, Karen and Robert Coker, and his three great grandchildren, Kierra, Braden, and William. Robert loved his dog Sheba, a 14 year old black lab that he adopted from a shelter in Houston when she was a year old after his wife passed away. He enjoyed spending time with his long-time friend Veronica Hunt, whom he considered to be a special blessing in his life and helped take care of him till his final day. His interests included fishing, spending time with family and friends, and enjoying delicious meals, especially dessert. Robert J. Hogan was also an active and devoted member of Wayside Chapel Church, and developed a strong and loving relationship with Jesus Christ. Robert J. Hogan was a compassionate, strong, and loyal husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, friend, solider, boss, co-worker, and neighbor throughout his entire life. May he rest in peace, as he is now reunited with his wife Pat and daughter Margie in Heaven. He was confirmed in Christ our Lord on May 16th 1948 and called to be with Him March 31st 2015. His smile and compassion will be dearly missed by many people he has touched through life.
