Faith, Love, Passion and Laughter Rodrigo Madrid, 50, passed away on Sunday, August 2nd, 2015 in the same manner by which he lived, with Faith, Love, Passion and a shared smile! After a short, intense battle with cancer, his faith carried him through difficult and painful moments, while his Love of Life fueled his boundless capacity to share a smile, down to his very last breath. His generous spirit and infectious laughter filled the hearts of those whose path he crossed, forging endless memories, where his spirited soul lives on forever. I will dedicate my future to always be known as Rodrigo’s little Sister. And always keep his faith alive, here on Earth. He will forever be known as the rooster of the family, to stand tall, with pride and always hold his chest out to deal with the life ahead. You stepping in as my Father figure I will forever remember… your dedication and advice you gave me, I will hold and live it for the rest of my life. Your Sisters and Brother will always remember you and we will forever live your on going presence.

Some men lead their lives with fervor; Rod lived his with ZESTY GUSTO! From the food on the table to chilling in the pool, all of his keen senses were engaged in his surroundings, and he expressed himself with exuberance.
During ten years as a member of our Canadian family, Rod’s curiosity, quick eye, ease of learning and diverse interests compelled him to share the world’s wonders with family and friends. He even tried, and failed, to teach me how to prepare his grandmother’s enchiladas. He insisted on visiting Liette’s maternal grandparents’ farm and paternal grandparents’ homestead, and meeting as many relatives as possible. A smile like his transcends language barriers.
He protected me from spiders and snakes at Rancho Esperanza, where he realized many of his dreams, including raising chickens and sheep, and managing a nearby cattle ranch. He embraced every visit with open arms.
Most of all, I cherish his unwavering trust in me as Diego’s and Vivian’s madrina. I am honoured and forever committed to supporting and encouraging Liette with parenting. Rest in eternal peace, hombre.
Rod Jr, Diego, Vivian, and Mia: as you make choices and realize your potential, please allow his unconditional love and immense intelligence guide you on your life’s journey. I love you 💛💚💜💙

I am in such complete shock. You are a rockstar. You were such an honorable man and an amazing friend through so many years you picked me up when I didnt think I could. You made me laugh through many tears. You loved everyone, treated everyone with the up most respect. You made every friend feel special. This world will not be the same. Last time I spoke to you, you were so proud of your family your farm doing what you loved. I and I know the rest of will never forget what a sweet wonderful person you are. I don’t think you realized how many people’s lives you touched. But you are a one in a Million kind of friend. I know your spirt lives with your family. My sincere condolences to your family.
