With profound love and gratitude for a life so beautifully lived, the family of Rosa Elia Mota announces her peaceful passing into the arms of our Lord on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at the age of 85.
Rosa was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, whose heart always revolved around her family. She cared for each of them with unwavering love, gentleness, and strength. A devout believer in the Virgen de Guadalupe, her faith was the foundation of her life, and she prayed daily, trusting in God’s grace and guidance.
Rosa grew up in Nueva Rosita, Coahuila, Mexico, where she met and married her beloved husband, Daniel. Together, they raised three daughters, and in 1969, seeking better opportunities for their family, they moved to the United States. Their courage, hard work, and determination paved the way for the rest of the family. Creating a foundation that will last for generations.
Rosa had a way of making life feel full of love and celebration. She was known for her molé, tamales, and the best homemade corn tortillas. Made with patience, care, and love, bringing her family together around the table for laughter, stories, and memories. She also loved to sew, and as a young mom she would make matching dresses for her daughters out of flour sacks, using her creativity to turn simple materials into something beautiful. She never passed up an opportunity to sing and dance. Filling her home with music, joy, and celebration.
Rosa cherished family traditions. She loved playing Lotería on the front porch with her daughters, enjoyed going fishing at the Río with her family, and hosted annual tamaladas during Christmas, bringing family and friends together to celebrate with warmth, laughter, and love.
A true nurturer, Rosa’s hands were always tending something beautiful. Her rose bushes and plants flourished under her care, a reflection of her own bright and generous spirit. Resilient and full of courage, she faced life’s challenges with strength and grace, always guiding her family with love and wisdom. Nothing brought her more happiness than spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Teaching them, loving them, and leaving a piece of herself in each of their hearts.
Rosa leaves behind a legacy of faith, family, and love. She will be deeply missed by her husband of 68 years, Daniel C. Mota; her daughters, Maria Del Rosario Mota, Yolanda Valdez (Armando Valdez), Janie Mota Martinez; her granddaughters, Gabriela, Krystal, Graciela, Daniella, Elissa; her great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Jonathan, Kaeden, Catalina, Kaite, Aaron, Elijah, Olalla, Elliott, Jaiden and Cillian; and her sister, Maria Ochoa.
She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Maria Del Jesus Narvaez Ochoa and Agustin Ochoa, and her siblings, Jose Angel Ochoa, Gregorio Ochoa, and Abraham Ochoa.
Her love, laughter, resilience, and faith will live on in every life she touched. Rosa’s heart was always full, and she will remain forever in ours. Te queremos mucho.
