January 2, 1959 ~ February 1, 2012
Royal Lee Washington Jr. was born January 2, 1959 in San Antonio, TX to the late Royal Lee Washington and Betty L Hardaway. Royal joined the United States Navy in 1976 where he served for 16 years. After the Navy, he spent time as a truck driver, plant supervisor and entrepreneur.
Royal was a devoted father and husband. He loved his family more than life and always wanted them to be the best at everything they did. As a Navy man, Royal spent many years in Hawaii and the Hawaiian spirit flowed out in everything he did. His warm spirit, charismatic attitude and joy for life brought happiness and encouragement to all who knew him. One could always count on him to bring laughter and a smile to every situation (even if you were in trouble).
Although, Royal's time with us was way too short and he will be deeply missed, he is now with the Lord and reunited with his mother and father.
Memories will be forever cherished by his wife, Shannon Grabill, his sister, Betty Washington, his brothers Ronnie Hardaway, Royal Washington, and Brian Washington, his six children, Royal III, Robert, Jennifer, Kianna, Jacob and Leilani, his five grandchildren, Adleigh, Royal IIII, Rowen, Ariyeon and Isaiah and a host of other family and friends.
