Sedalia Green was born in Gonzales, Texas April 9, 1944 to parents: Leroy Stevens and Irene Steen. She entered the Kingdom of Heaven December 6, 2022 at the age of 78. Sedalia accepted Christ at an early age at St. James Baptist Church in Gonzales, Texas.
She was a graduate of Edward High School, Class of 1963, where she was ranked fourth academically, and Homecoming Queen of her class. She even received a full academic scholarship to Texas Lutheran University, which she declined to become a loving Wife and Mother.
Sedalia Green was united to her High School sweetheart Raphael Green Jr. on March 5th, 1963 and to this union four children were born. Troy Green, who preceded her in death at childbirth, Steve E. Green, Pamela D. Green, and Stacey D. Green currently residing in San Antonio, Texas. Sedalia and Raphael Green Jr. later filed for a divorce after 17 years of marriage, which Sedalia never remarried.
She continued her education, pursuing an Associates in Real Estate from Tarrant County Junior College (TCJC) in Fort Worth, Texas, which she achieved with ease. She began working for Century 21 Real Estate and receiving her Broker’s License in 1971. Sedalia will always be remembered for her perseverance and tenacity.
Sedalia is preceded in death by her parents and 13 siblings, as well as her son Troy Green. Sedalia leaves to cherish her memories; three children: Steve E. Green, Pamela D. Green, and Stacey D. Green; two sisters: Janie Hewitt and Betty Hysaw (Lonnie), San Antonio, Texas; two brothers: Hewitt Stevens, of San Antonio, Texas and Rudolph Stevens, of North Carolina; and a host of special nieces, nephews, and other close family members.
Sedalia’s memory will remain in the hearts of everyone that knew her. She will be missed dearly.
