Shirley Ruth Bettis, age 60, passed away May 16, 2014 at her home in San Antonio, TX. Born Oct 31, 1953 she is survived by her husband of 43 years Robert Bettis. Shirley is also survived by her son, Craig Bettis; daughter, Lori Martin and her husband Steve; two grandchildren, Blayne Brietzke and Devin Martin; sisters, Kathy Dunn and Carol Carpenter; numerous nieces and nephews. she is preceded in death by her parents Owen and Letha Carpenter, and brother Bradley Carpenter. A Memorial Service will be held Wed. May 21, 2014, 3:00 PM at Central Christian Church, 720 N. Main St., San Antonio, TX 78205. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.

My condolences to the family. Shirley worked for me for years with American Greetings. We shared alot of good times and bad times. The one thing I remember most was that shel always had a smile and was up beat. Nothing seemed to get her down and her family meant everything to her. She touched the lives of many and will be missed but not forgotten. She was chosen, a beautiful spirit to be our newest angel. Shirley see you when I see you. Vickey Ambrus
