Simeon J. Palanca, Jr. was born December 11, 1925 to Simeon S. and Dolores Palanca, Sr. in Jaen, Nueva Ecija, Philippines. He was the youngest of three children. Simeon passed away peacefully September 12, 2025 surrounded by his family.
He attended the local schools and after graduating high school he obtained his Bachelors Degree in Accounting from the University of the East in Manila.
He met Flora Litonjua while in Manila, after courting her for some time they married on June 12, 1949. They remained together until her passing on July 29, 2011. The couple were blessed with nine children making sure all attended school and become financially independent and productive people in the community.
Simeon worked in the accounting field in Manila until the early 1980’s when he and Flora moved to the United States. He continued to work as an accountant until he retired and choose to concentrate on his beloved grandchildren. He was a prominent force in his family which was always his first priority.
Simeon enjoyed traveling back to the Philippines every year to visit family until his wife passed, then he would go every other year or so and only stopped traveling in 2018. He loved sports. He was an avid San Antonio Spurs fan. He loved taking care the yard. He loved watching Game Show on TV. But best of all, he loved watching his beloved great-grandchildren laugh, the sounds of which were music to his ears and play which was a sight to behold.
Simeon was proceeded in death by his parents; siblings, Julito Palanca and Herminia Palanca: his beloved wife of sixty-two years, Flora Palanca and their grandchild, Joan Palanca.
His memory will forever be cherished by his children, Bessie Palanca, Jane Little, Alex Palanca, Emery Palanca, Francis Palanca, Elen Palanca, Gemma Kiang, Toni Palanca and Richard Palanca, 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
His cremains will be flown back to Manila, Philippines and will be interred together with the love of his life Flora Palanca.
