Born in:
San Antonio, Texas
Resided in:
San Antonio, Texas
Stanley attended Sam Houston High School in San Antonio, TX. He began working as a truck driver at the young age of sixteen. Stanley had a strong desire to learn to drive diesel trucks, but his uncle.
“John Doll Luckey,” initially refused to teach him. Determined, Stanley and a friend would often wait until his uncle fell asleep, then quietly slip out and trive the truck around the corner, imitating what they had seen his uncle do. After Stanley demonstrated that he could drive, Uncle Doll finally took the time to teach him the proper way, and Stanley eventually obtained his commercial drivers license.
After several years of driving, he decided to pursue his greatest passion: cooking. He spent more than twenty years working for T-Bar-M Ranch, where he managed the food service department. He became well known for his creativity in the kitchen and ultimately retired from T-Bar-M Resort with a stellar reputation and the respect of those he served alongside.
Following retirement, Stanley went to work for his uncle, William Garner Sr., at Mr. G’s Soul Food Restaurant. He also launched a food truck business for a short period, and the demand was so strong that he sold out every day. The venture proved to be highly successful; however, the physical demand eventually became too great, and he made the decision to sell the business.
Stanley was never one to sit still He later began working as a security guard with Sunstates Security, even when his doctors advised him to slow down and take things easy. During his illness, he remained connected to the people he had worked for, which included his former Director of T-Bar-M and his Manager of Sunstates Security, who visited him often. This is a true testament to the great man he was and the relationships he built throughout his life.
Stanley also had a deep affection for animals. Whether it was dogs, pigeons, parrots, or any other creature, he showed genuine interest and care for them. with many relationships, Stanley’s life would not be complete without family Stanley’s infectious personality made him a favorite among everyone. He was truly devoted to his mother and always made certain that she was well cared for. As the eldest son, he set a powertul example for Royal and Anthony, demonstrating what it meant to be responsible. dependabie, and fatherly, even while being only six and eight years older than they were. He adored his baby girl, Tunisha, and loved his two sons dearly. A proud moment was stepping up to share the responsibility with Yolonda Green to care for their granddaughter, Leyana.
