Susie B. Salazar

Susie Ballarta Salazar passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 5, 2010, at the age of 84. Daughter of Jesus Ballarta and Paula Luna, was born Jesusa Ballarta on May 7, 1926 in San Antonio, Texas. She has joined our Lord, her husband, Jose B. Salazar; her parents; her sisters and brothers; her son, Jose B. Salazar, Jr. and her daughter, Guadalupe V. Flores. She was the youngest of seven and was the last to leave this world. A strong mother and loving grandmother, she leaves behind her sons, Michael Garza and Reynaldo B. Salazar; daughters, Delia C. Vasquez, Lorenza B. Semien (Will), Susie B. Salazar (Ismael); grandchildren, Cynthia Vasquez, Theresa Vasquez, Reynaldo B. Salazar, Jr., Ciria Vasquez, and Gabriella Vasquez; 4 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. A special thanks to Select Specialty Hospital nurses, Jordan Health Services and all her caregivers. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Tuesday, August 10, 2010 followed by a rosary at 7:00 PM at St. Benedict Church, 4535 Lord Rd, San Antonio, TX. The Funeral Mass is scheduled for 10:00 AM on Wednesday, August 11, 2010 at St. Benedict Church. Interment will follow at San Fernando Cemetery II. In the end, her greatest success was being a loving and strong mother.
