Vicente "Vince" Alfaro

Vicente Alfaro, affectionately known as Vince, was born on April 5, 1975, in San Luis Potosí, Mexico, to Remigio and Maria Alfaro. He was the seventh of nine children born to this loving family. The family later relocated to Tyler, Texas, where Vince attended the local public schools and graduated from John Tyler High School.

From a young age, Vince discovered his love for cooking. What began as a childhood interest grew into a lifelong passion. He would patiently work on a recipe until it was perfected, always striving for excellence. Cooking was more than a hobby—it was one of the many ways he expressed love to those around him.

Vince was a visionary who could always see the need before it was spoken. He was a provider at heart, generously supporting his family and others without hesitation or request. He never met a stranger; his warmth, kindness, and genuine spirit drew people to him instantly.

Professionally, Vince built a successful career in banking. Beginning as a teller, he steadily worked his way into the mortgage department, earning the respect and admiration of both colleagues and clients. He was deeply valued by his coworkers. Through his knowledge and experience, Vince guided his family in establishing financial stability, teaching them how to complete applications, build credit, and secure their futures. His wisdom became a foundation for many.

While living in Tyler, Vince met his best friend and life partner, Francisco “Frank” Escobedo. Together for twenty-six beautiful years, they built a life filled with love, faith, and adventure. They shared a passion for travel, exploring the world and seeking new experiences. Stepping out on faith, Vince and Frank moved to San Antonio without jobs but with a plan and unwavering trust in God. Through determination and faith, they flourished.

Vince loved the Lord and faithfully served at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church in Tyler. He was actively involved in many areas of church life, including youth ministry, and assisted the priest in various capacities. His servant’s heart was evident in everything he did. He was deeply loved by his church family, many of whom tried to persuade him not to leave Tyler. His presence left a lasting impact.

Within his family, Vince was the glue that held everyone together. He would take their hands and guide them through life’s joys and heartbreaks, through celebrations and sorrows. He and Frank were always available, always present, always loving.

Vicente was preceded in death by his beloved niece, Cindy, and his mother-in-law, Gabriela Arevalo.

He will be forever loved and deeply missed by his devoted partner of twenty-six years, Francisco Escobedo; his parents, Remigio and Maria Alfaro; his siblings, Angel, Remigio Jr., Jose, Hugo, Gustavo, Claudia, Susan, and Veronica; uncle, Raul Alfaro and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and countless friends whose lives he touched.

Vince’s legacy of faith, generosity, wisdom, and unconditional love will continue to live on in all who were blessed to know him.
