Resided in:

On August 7, 1962, Vince was born to Lucy Chevalier and Robert Francis in Lafayette, Louisiana, establishing the roots of his remarkable journey. During his elementary years, his journey brought him and his family to Houston, Texas. His love of music flourished as he joined the infamous marching band at Kashmere High School. His passion for music and learning followed him as he entered college at Huston-Tillotson University, where he received his Bachelor’s Degree in History with a minor in music.
After graduating college, Vince returned to Houston, Texas as a man of many endeavors including his return to Houston ISD schools as an educator, working for the USPS, training to be a tax auditor, and becoming a certified Medical Assistant. Vince eventually relocated to San Antonio for the part of his journey that encompassed fulfillment.
Vince was a man of many accolades. In the Spring of 1983 he was initiated into Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated. While in San Antonio, he joined the Mason’s and elevated through the rankings. He took much pride in these accomplishments and remained dedicated and active to the causes of each organization.
He was a true music enthusiast, learning to play several instruments by ear, favoring the saxophone. He understood the composition of a song, the sounds and placements of instruments, the function of the band, melodies, and all the little pieces that make sounds music. He had an appreciation for all genres, but most of all he loved the Parliment Funkadelics. Vince lived for the ‘Funk’.
His full life made him boundless. He was an intellect, he was brilliant. He had a wealth of knowledge and he never ceased attaining more. He nurtured intellectual growth in others without judgement. He relished in his fondest memories. Told stories of the past. Could speak on any topic. Revolutionized the family. Shared knowledge and gave advice. He was encouraging and supportive. An inspiration. He was a resource of all kinds. He loved the Lord and knew the Bible. He was iconic to those who knew him.
As a husband, he embodied a fairytale. He was a protector and a provider. He was the calmness I needed to settle any storm. He was the best, best friend ever. A companion. A partner. Sometimes the yin, sometimes the yang, always the one for me. In our journey together, we traveled many miles and experienced many things. We did it together and it was divine. It was ours. I’m going to miss you terribly. JOB WELL DONE!
Vince’s, mom and dad preceded him in death. He leaves to mourn his Wife, Eddee (Jackie); two brothers, Reggie (Susan), Joseph III (Sharee); sister Roxanne all of Houston, Texas.
A beautiful young lady he helped raise, Dr. LaTasha Hicks, two wonderful young men Chaise and Courtney Texada. Two special young adults that had the privilege of calling him “Pops” Marjorie and Henry Chase, Jr. He had great love for his nieces and nephews and cousins all relatives and friends. Vince was well loved and he loved in return.
