April 19, 1938 ~ October 15, 2014
William Ussery, Jr., was born on April 19, 1938 in Luling, Texas to the late Cora Mae and William Ussery, Sr. He was one of nine children of which three brothers and two sisters preceded him in death. He was best known to his family, friends and acquaintances as "Junior". He departed this life on October 15, 2014.
An avid sports fan, Junior loved to watch televised sports, especially baseball. He loved to go fishing and would relate many a tall tale about his "catch".
Junior enjoyed barbecuing and playing practical jokes and pranks on relatives and friends. He remembered birthdays and would call to tease about "making another one". He was compassionate about maintaining his lawn and kept a picturesque, manicured and landscaped lawn.
He is survived by his wife, Robbie Lee Ussery; son, Willis Ussery; aunt, Jo Nell Brown of Denver, Colorado; eight grandchildren, James Lawrence, Marvis James, Robert James, III, Sonya O'Neill, Whitley Ussery, Adrian Ussery, Michael Ussery, Melissa Ussery; seven great grandchildren, Sinea Lawrence, Asaiah Levrie, Jeremias Levrie, Lariyah Garcia, Raven Lawrence, Majestic Lawrence, and McKenzie Lawrence; three sisters, Dorothy Mae Armstrong, Alvena Govan (Jay), and Bobbie Ussery; sister-in-law Betty Ussery of Los Angeles, California and his first cousin, Clarence "Cito" Gaston of Oldsmar, Florida, who was more like a brother to him as well as many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Junior worked for Central Parking System in San Antonio for many years, retiring in 2004. Clients he attended to during his tenure have expressed their support in many ways. Our gratitude is extended to them also.
