Willie B. McPherson began her life's journey on December 10, 1921 to Susie Mitchell and Willie Edwards in DeWitt, TX. She spent most of her years in Yoakum and Cuero where she grew up and went to school before moving to San Antonio, TX.
Willie B. became a member of the Golden Gate Missionary Baptist Church in 1970, where Pastor David Smith preached and where she was a devoted member of the usher board and the church choir. She went on to work for attorney Bruce Watts for an astonishing 45 years before retiring.
She welcomed 7 beautiful children into her life: Robert E. Sheppard, Diana Edwards, Lillian M. Jones McPherson, Richard McPherson, Elise M. McPherson, Lynda J. McPherson, Robert L. Haney. Grandchildren: Nehemiah, Basheba, Mavira, Robin, Terrell, Shantay, Charlotte, Brandon, David, Jacobey, Tajee, Richmond and Michael. With a host of great grandkids and great-great grandkids and her sisters, Evangeline Battles, Orgenia Patterson and Lucille Myler.
Willie B. was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother and also a strong fighter. She loved her chicken and after she ate she would always say "It has gone to Seguin."
Willie B. is preceded in death by her mother, Susie Mitchell; father, Willie Edwards; her son, Robert E. Sheppard; brothers, Walter Edwards, Dudley Edwards, Bill Edwards and Jean Edwards.
