With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Mr. Cesar Rocha Velez, who left this world on May 21, 2025, after a brave and unwavering battle with cancer. He was 53 years old.
Cesar was born on September 4, 1971, in Piedras Negras, Mexico, to Jesus Velez Molina and the late Maria Alicia Velez Beltran. From a young age, Cesar embodied strength, resilience, and an unshakable sense of responsibility. He met the love of his life, Leticia, early in his youth, and their deep bond blossomed into a lifelong marriage in 1992. Together, they built a family full of love, pride, and enduring support.
A true jack of all trades, Cesar worked as a mechanic, construction worker, and landscaper—there was nothing he couldn’t figure out, no challenge too daunting. He had a remarkable ability to make things happen, no matter the obstacles in his path. Whether it was fixing what others thought was beyond repair or finding a way forward in tough times, Cesar did it all with quiet determination and grace.
Cesar was a serious man when it came to taking care of his family and responsibilities, but those who knew him well also knew his sharp wit and love of a good joke. His laughter, though often subtle, could light up a room, and his humor was a gift he shared freely with those he loved. He was deeply respected and profoundly loved by all who had the honor of knowing him.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Leticia G. Velez; his treasured daughters, Mya Velez, Arlette Velez, and Abby Velez; and his cherished grandchildren, Abraham, Izan, and Zyshonne Jr. He is also survived by his father, Jesus Velez Molina; his brothers, Jesus (Karla) Velez, Omar Velez, Saul Velez; and his sister, Ariana Velez; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and his close circle of friends.
Cesar is preceded in death by his dear mother, Maria Alicia Velez Beltran, and his beloved daughter, Abril Velez, whom he now joins in eternal peace.
Cesar’s legacy is one of love, perseverance, and quiet strength. His life was a testament to what it means to be a devoted husband, a loving father, a loyal friend, and a man who never gave up. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Rest in peace, Cesar. You found a way through everything in life—and now, may you rest in the peace you so richly deserve.
