Resided in: San Antonio, Texas

Claudia Marie Coe was born on September 1, 1924, in Lockhart, Texas, to Charlie Bright and Cleo Brawley. She was lovingly raised by her grandmother, Virginia Brown Brawley.

On November 19, 1946, Claudia married the love of her life, Robert Daniel Coe. Together they raised five children: Beverly Galloway, Vickie Robinson, Robin Grant, Brenda Hooper, and Robert C. Coe. Claudia devoted herself to being a cherished wife, mother, and homemaker, caring not only for her own children but often for those of family, friends, and neighbors.

She and her husband were longtime members of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, where they faithfully brought up their children. Claudia enjoyed sewing, reading, and spending time with her loved ones. She especially treasured her time with the quilting group at Antioch, which brought her joy and fellowship.

Claudia leaves to cherish her memory one stepson, Marvin Hill; four daughters; grandchildren Derrick Coe, Samuel Galloway Jr., Latrice Crawford, Bryant Walker, William Hooper, Lashonda Hooper, and Kevin Chatman; twenty-two great-grandchildren including Ja’Koy Galloway, Semone Montelongo, Labarron Nelson, Derrick Coe, Jr. Christian Crawford, Krislyn Crawford; and two precious great-great-grandchildren, Aerilyn Galloway and Adrian Montelongo.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert D. Coe; her son, Robert C. Coe; her parents, Charlie Bright and Cleo Brawley; and her grandmother, Virginia Brown Brawley and her sisters, Etheline Johnson and Lorraine Campbell.

Her life was a gift to her family, her church, and her community, and she will be remembered with love and gratitude.
