Laverne Elliott Blaylock, affectionately known as “Vernie,” was born on February 19, 1955, in Belton, Texas, and gained her angel wings on Friday, October 24, 2025, at the age of 70.
Vernie was the eldest of five siblings and took great pride in her role as the big sister. She was known for her loving and caring nature, always putting others before herself. Though she had a stern side and never sugarcoated her words, those who knew her best understood that her honesty came from a place of love and strength.
During Christmas, Vernie’s generous spirit truly shined. No matter how big or small, she made sure everyone received a gift—each one given straight from her heart. She loved family gatherings and was always the life of the party—dancing, laughing, and enjoying life to the fullest.
The greatest joy of Vernie’s life was being “Nonnie” to her beloved grandchildren. They were the apple of her eye and brought her endless pride and happiness.
Vernie will be deeply missed by her devoted daughter, Sandrina Crowley; her cherished grandchildren, Trinity Bell and Archer David; sister, Sharon Brandt (Brad); brothers, David Elliott (Monica), Daryn Elliott (Tiffany), Daryl Elliott and her many family members and friends who were blessed to know and love her.
Her legacy of love, laughter, and strength will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.

Vernie was definitely the life of the party. No matter what family gathering what is that? What is it huh? Do you have candy in your mouth we had she had everyone laughing their heads off. My greatest memory has to be the countless times the family went camping together. I am going to miss you at all the family events. I love you Vernie, rest in the arms of Jesus now.
