Bobby Joe Haguewood Sr.

Bobby J. Haguewood, Sr., loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 17, 2026, in San Antonio at the age of 92. He was born on March 3, 1934, in Rockingham, North Carolina.

Bobby served valiantly in the US Air Force, instilling character traits from an early age, including discipline, honor, and bravery. He retired in 1972.

Bobby was a devoted family man whose greatest joy in life was the love he shared with his family. He was known for his strength, kindness, and unwavering dedication to those he loved. Through the years, he built a life centered on hard work, loyalty, and compassion, leaving behind memories that will forever be cherished by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his beloved parents, James Denton Haguewood and Leitha Mae Sellers Haguewood, and his sister, Virginia Smith.

Left to honor and cherish his memory is his loving wife of nearly sixty years, Vanpen Haguewood; his daughters, Sandra Kessinger and husband Donald, and Angela Morgan; his son, Bobby Haguewood, Jr.; and his treasured grandchildren, Ryan Shipman, Kiera Green, Nathan Kessinger, Aaliyah Tukes, and Mitchell McConnell.

Bobby’s legacy of love, devotion, and quiet strength will continue to live on through his family and all whose lives he touched. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered always.
