Mrs. Josephine Hernandez, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 17, 2026, surrounded by her loving family in the comfort of her home. She was born on January 10, 1951, in San Antonio, Texas, to Arturo Zepeda and Sarah Covarrubias.
Josephine was a woman who could be both loving and strict, always making sure her family knew how much she cared while keeping them in line. She had a wonderful sense of humor and could make those around her laugh, but she was also a strong woman who knew what she wanted. She was truly a boss in every sense of the word.
Josephine shared approximately 48 beautiful years with her beloved husband, Gregorio V. Hernandez. Together, they built a family filled with love, laughter, and countless memories.
She is survived by her husband, Gregorio V. Hernandez; her children, Heliberio Molina (Ida), Juan Molina (Mayra), Gregorio C. Hernandez (Marisela), Adriana Ornelas (Jose Ismael), Daniel Hernandez (Gloria), and Gilberto Hernandez (Diana); 19 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren, with two more precious great-grandchildren on the way.
Josephine was especially devoted to her family and grandchildren, many of whom she helped raise. She was always there to babysit for her children, lend a helping hand, and make sure her family was cared for. Her love was shown not only through her words, but through everything she did for the people she loved.
She had a zest for life and enjoyed the simple things that brought her happiness. Josephine loved to dance and listen to music. She had a true green thumb and took great pride in her plants. She also loved shopping and always made sure she looked her best. She had style, confidence, and a presence that could not be overlooked.
Those who knew Josephine will remember her beautiful personality, her humor, her strength, her loving heart, and the way she cared for her family. She leaves behind a lifetime of memories that will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.
Josephine was preceded in death by her parents, Arturo Zepeda and Sarah Covarrubias.
Though she is no longer with us, her love, laughter, strength, and the lessons she gave her family will live on through the generations she helped shape. She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
