In Loving Memory of Ester Ochoa
Ester Ochoa went to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, October 23, 2026, at the age of 61. A woman of strong faith, Ester lived her life with a loving heart, a spirit of service, and a deep devotion to Christ and her church family.
Born on July 22, 1965, in San Antonio, Texas, Ester was the beloved daughter of the late Angelina and Alfredo Ruiz. Throughout her life, her faith remained a guiding light, bringing her comfort, strength, and purpose. She was a lifetime member of Sunny Slope Baptist Church, where she faithfully served her church family and community. Ester especially enjoyed teaching Sunday school to children, sharing the love of Jesus with young hearts, and volunteering at church luncheons and fellowship gatherings. She found joy in serving others and was always willing to lend a helping hand wherever she was needed.
At home, Ester enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, including watching television and listening to Christian music. These quiet moments brought her peace and comfort, reflecting the gentle and faithful spirit she carried throughout her life.
Above all, Ester’s greatest joy was her only granddaughter, Edith, who held a very special place in her heart. She treasured every moment spent with her, especially caring for her, teaching her new things, and sharing the love and wisdom that only a grandmother can give. The bond they shared was precious, and the memories they created together will forever be cherished.
Ester will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her servant’s heart, her dedication to her church, and the love she so freely gave to her family and community. Though her earthly journey has come to an end, the legacy of her faith, kindness, and love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
As we find comfort in God’s promises, we rejoice in knowing that Ester is now at peace in the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. While she will be deeply missed, her family and friends can take comfort in the hope of eternal life and the blessed assurance that, one day, they will be reunited with her in Heaven.
Ester is survived by her husband of 35 years, Eliberto A. Ochoa; children, Isaac Ochoa (Sandra), Samuel Ochoa, Joshua Ochoa and Stephaine Ochoa; granddaughter, Edith Ochoa; siblings, Alicia Hernandez (Eloy), Yolanda Garcia (Victor), David Ruiz and numerous other relatives and friends.
“Well done, good and faithful servant.” — Matthew 25:23
May Ester Ochoa rest in the loving arms of Jesus, forever surrounded by His peace and everlasting love.
