Ora E. Pethel

Ora Etta "Susie" Pethel died on December 21, 2017. She is survived by her husband, Ray J. Pethel, daughter, Gwendolyn J. Barker, son-in-law, Larry J. Barker, three grandchildren and six grandchildren. Susie had a larger than life personality, laughter that rang out like church bells and all the sass and kindness that are the gifts of southern women. Her exceptional talents include being a consummate spoiler. Pets, grandchildren, friends and neighbors always had enough ice cream and baked goods to keep plump and full of love. She had a talent for any craft with the ability to paint, crochet, and sew. Susie made sure that no doily was left un-crocheted and all curtains had proper trim. Susie was loved dearly and those that have survived her will miss the daily joy of her presence. A graveside service will be held 9:15am Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
