Eugene Burleson, Jr. was born on January 20, 1952 to Gussie and Eugene Burleson, Sr. in Taylor, Texas. At a young age, the family relocated to Marion, Texas where he was reared and educated in the Marion School District. Eugene affectionately received the nick name "Bubba". As Eugene moved on to his adult life he began his career as a truck driver. Through the years Eugene fathered four sons; Cardell, Carl, Duane, Kevin and one daughter Melissa. In 1998 he met the love of his life and soon to be wife Brenda Pitts. He embraced her children into his heart and loved them like his own. A few years later he became an amazing PawPaw. Eugene was a truck driver that truly enjoyed driving trucks which allowed him to travel from state to state. Eugene was a comedian and always had a joke or story to tell. Eugene's hobbies included fishing, boating, hunting, cooking and listening to music. He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother and sister. He will truly be missed. God granted him a wonderful life. Eugene leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife, Brenda; twelve siblings, Shirley Jean, Willie Ruth, James (Lois), Shirley, Ethel (William), Delores, Charles, Sr., Frankie (Loneil), Bobby (Ann), Christine (Thomas) and Dorothy; his eight children; his grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Eugene also known as "Soul Train" leaves behind his friends and co-workers and everyone whose lives he touched in such a special way.
