September 25, 1947 ~ February 1, 2019
Lonell Edward Rodgers born September 25, 1947 in San Antonio, Texas went to be with Our Lord Friday, February 1, 2019 at the age of 71years. Lonell graduated. He retired from Yellow Freight trucking company after 30 years of service. He was very involved with coordinating Phillis Wheatley’s high school reunions. Lonell enjoyed gardening, he shared his limes, tangerines and pecans from his tress. Lonell had a love for cars, dancing and playing dominos. He also enjoyed bar b queuing and would often volunteer to be the pit master for various fundraising activities for his church and alumni Class Reunion Committee. He will be missed by his; Brother, Larry (Jeanette) Rodgers, Sisters; Mary Smoots and Dorothy Bouldin, and son, Michael Brown, host of nieces and nephews all of San Antonio, TX.

He was one of the best and funniest ever! I always, always, always enjoyed caring for him. If I wasn’t caring for him, he’ll seek me out!!! Only to tell me that I missed the “Greens Man” on W.W. White road last week, or that he made the biggest and best pot of pigs feet in the world!! He could always make me smile and laugh, even on my most taxing days. He always told me that I was the only nurse who could handle him. Lol, but, he said that to everyone!!! Rest easy, you’ll be missed Mr Rodgers
