Adelaide "Dee-Dee" Lott

Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Adelaide Lott, affectionately known as “Dee-Dee,” entered eternal rest on October 4, 2023 at the age of 93 in San Antonio, Texas. She was born to: Thurman Perryman and Lola Taylor on September 23, 1930 in Runge, Texas.

Adelaide met and married Carlos Lott Sr. in 1947. The two shared a wonderful union of 54 years, and raised their children together. Carlos departed his wife in 2001.

Adelaide was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was nurturing, selfless, and very family oriented. The word “family” was always very important to her. She always looked forward to family gatherings, where there was laughter, joy, unity, and peace. In addition to her family, she also was a woman of faith. Adelaide was a member of New Covenant Missionary Baptist Church for many years.

When she entered heaven, she was reunited with her husband, Carlos Lott Sr., and her parents.

Adelaide is survived by her children: Carol A. Bentley, Carlos Lott Jr. (Juanita), Clinton Lott (Lena), Charles Lott (Monica), John Lott (Jackie), Larry Lott, Sandra Lott, and Michael Lott Sr. (Adrienne); 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren; one sister: Mary Agnes Jones.

Grandma there aren’t enough words that I can express of the bond that you and I had. I am more than grateful for the 53 years that God has allowed me to share with you.
I am going to truly miss the way you and I would “play fight” every single time we would see one another and when you would tell me that I make your day and keep you on your toes. Well until we meet again…..

My love and prayers to this beautiful family. To my little sister Diane, you know I am right here day or night. Just say the word and I am there. I will forever cherish the day Mrs. Lott and I became “best friends “. You have definitely earned your rest. I can see you now, walking the streets of gold wearing a crown of jewels. With my sincere condolences to the Lott Family. I was able to witness and be part of for many years the love in this family and the matriarch herself “Grandma Lott”. She genuinely welcomed Daija and I and treated us as family. Not a time would pass when she would not asked about Daija when then she was away at college. She was the bonus Grandma you only get once and I am glad to have been included. You will be greatly missed never forgotten and always loved.

The best mom in the world has now gone home to Glory. You are now at peace and will have eternal rest. I’ll miss our daily 3 p.m. calls. I loved reminiscing about family and all the things that were happening in our lives, the weather and “how everyone is doing in my area”. I guess you’ll have to wait until we see each other again to give me all those “whoopings” you said you were going to give me for calling you late sometimes. That robe is going to look good on you as you walk the streets of gold. I love you more than anything.

Mom, words cannot express how much I love you. You are the best mom ever. You were always there for me during our ups and downs, and some disappointments. You are truly missed. Although I love you God lived moved you best. While you are in the arms of our God please understand that is blessing that is better than anything.
