Alfonso F. Reyes

Alfonso F. Reyes, beloved father of Frank Reyes, Sonya Rosario, Miguel Reyes and James Reyes entered into internal rest, June 26, 2023 at Lakeside Nursing Home, San Antonio, Texas; he is also survived by his sister Selia Davis and brother, Carlos Reyes. Our father was born, Oct 2, 1927 in San Antonio to parents, Jesus and Maria Reyes and brother to Jesse Reyes, Nellie Mendez and Carmen Maldonado, all now deceased.

Our father served his country in the Army/Air Force 1945-1980; end of World War II, Korean War and Viet Nam. He was stationed at Aviano Air Force Base, Italy; Camp New Amsterdam, Soesterberg, Netherlands; Mather Air Force Base, California and Lajes Field Terceira, Azores and Civil Service at Kelly Air Force Base, where he retired. As a young man, he was a visual artist, jazz and blues pianist, playing in many Cantinas in the deep westside of San Antonio; loved Boogie Woogie, Glenn Miller and Los Ponchos music.
